CARDIOLOGIST SAYS: ‘WE NEED AN NHS THAT’S DESIGNED AND FUNDED TO WORK’

Heart surgeon's bid to be MP

A HEART doctor has unveiled his bid to be elected as a Plymouth MP.

Dr Guy Haywood, an NHS consultant cardiologist, has been caring for people’s hearts for the last 27 years.

Now he is standing in Plymouth Sutton and Devonport as the candidate for the Workers Party of Britain (WPB).

The WPB was launched in 2019 and is running in its first general election, with a slate of 152 candidates.

Dr Haywood has treated more than 10,000 patients in the Plymouth area and said: “We need an NHS designed and funded to work.”

He added that the WPB wanted to see the best opportunities for every child and the truthful leadership that all working people deserve.
