Flats to get gas back on 'soon'

RESIDENTS ARE WALKING HALF MILE FOR A SHOWER
FOR residents in Plymouth’s troubled Evolution Cove apartment block the half-mile trek for a shower will soon be a thing of the past.
Owners of the Stonehouse building said that the gas supply is expected to be back on by the end of this week.
Occupants of the 64 flats moved back in six weeks ago, after the building was evacuated two months earlier.
But many found out there was no gas supply to their flats and therefore no hot water.
Grey GR Limited Partnership, which owns the building, arranged for them to use showers at The Hub, at Foulston Park, in Devonport - 0.7miles away.
However, Grey GR has now confirmed that the gas supply should be restored this week.
A spokesperson said: “The gas works are progressing as planned.”
