WITH Mother's Day approaching, I thought it appropriate to write this story from our patrols a few years ago...
Street Pastors on night duty at work in Plymouth
The night before Mother's Day, we were watching a couple having a huge row. He eventually stormed off, leaving her in tears.
We asked if we could help and she told us the last thing he'd shouted was: “I don’t want anything to do with you!” before leaving in the taxi that had been meant for both of them
We spent some time reassuring her of her value as a person and a mum, amid her “protests” that she wasn't important enough for us to spend time with her.
