Bid to axe Russian name from city road

A PLYMOUTH MP is campaigning to change a road named after the city’s former twin town in Russia to one that shows solidarity with Ukraine.
Labour MP for Moor View, Fred Thomas, is seeking views from the community over the renaming of Novorossiysk Road in the north east of the city which connects to the Forder Valley link road.
Plymouth was officially twinned with the city of Novorossiysk in 1990 but this link was severed in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
