London link Rabbi named as victim of beach attack

A London-born rabbi was named among the 16 people killed in the antisemitic terror attack at Bondi Beach yesterday.
Eli Schlanger, 41, who was the assistant rabbi at the Jewish cultural centre Chabad of Bondi, organised the Hanukah celebration, which attracted more than 1,000 people.
The father of five was described by family members as a man who was “full of life” and “loved to help people”. Born in north London, Schlanger moved to New York as a child and married an Australian woman. Two months ago they celebrated the birth of their youngest child.
