DSWD launches awareness week against sexual abuse

To address growing concerns over online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) and other forms of child sexual abuse in the country, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-7 launched a weeklong campaign to raise awareness.
Under the umbrella of Safer Internet Campaign Day 2026 and the Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Week (CSAAW), DSWD-7 is promoting responsible internet use and raising awareness on child protection.
Ligaya G. Dael, Social Welfare Officer IV and Children Sector Focal Person of DSWD-7, said in a forum yesterday, Feb. 18, that while the campaigns have designated days for observance, their impact depends on sustained public engagement and education.
