City Hall promises protection of informal workers, vendors

|October 21, 2025
Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival underscored his administration’s commitment to protecting the livelihood of informal workers and small traders while ensuring that Cebu City remains clean, safe, and orderly.
-
Speaking before vendors and civic groups during the Multisectoral Assembly and Policy Dialogue on the Rights of Informal Workers and Small Traders at the Cebu City Hall Community Hall, Archival said he envisions “an organized and fair vending community --nga patas, limpyo, ug parehas ang dagway sa inyong mga stalls.”
The event was organized by the Center for Emergency Aid, Rehabilitation and Development Inc. (CONCERN), which has been tasked by the mayor to help profile and organize sidewalk vendors across the city.
“I do not want our vendors to lose their livelihood. What I truly want is for us to work together and be organized, so that everyone can continue earning a living while we also keep our city clean, safe, and orderly,” Archival told participants.
