US strikes, Iran doubles down

The US-Iran MoU signed last week appears to be in jeopardy after a second day of military strikes, shortly after President Trump threatened to wipe out the Iranian leadership if they did not stick to the interim agreement to end the war.

US Central Command said its forces had carried out fresh strikes after a Panama-flagged tanker was attacked by an Iranian drone on Saturday. The attack in the Strait of Hormuz followed one on a cargo ship on Thursday that triggered the latest escalation.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released a video showing the launch of ballistic missiles overnight, with a message written on them in English and Persian saying Trump was insisting on a “defeated war”. IRGC said it had fired missiles and drones towards the US Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait and the US Fifth Naval Fleet in Bahrain to avenge US strikes. It threatened more attacks if the deal is violated again by the “deceitful” US.
