Proceedings in the solar case involving Transport Minister K. B. Ganesh Kumar will continue after the Kottarakkara Judicial Magistrate Court dismissed a petition seeking to halt the trial until the Assembly elections are over.

The order removes a legal obstacle that the minister had argued was necessary to avoid political repercussions during the electoral process.The petition, submitted on Ganesh Kumar's behalf by advocate Sudheer Jacob, asked the court to stay all proceedings connected to the case until the completion of the Assembly polls.
