Kasaragod police have registered a case against YouTuber Dhanya S R, widely known on social media as ‘Helen of Sparta’, after she was allegedly found driving under the influence during a late-night vehicle check in Kumbala.

- HD Bureau

Dhanya, 28, a resident of Perumbala in Kasaragod district, was taken into custody after police intercepted her car in the early hours of Wednesday. The vehicle was seized around 2am after officers on patrol noticed alleged reckless driving during checks in the Kumbala area. She was later released after legal procedures, including the collection of penalty amounts, were completed.

The case was registered by Kumbala police after the vehicle was allegedly driven in a manner that could endanger human life. Police records cited in the case say officers first noticed the car near Bandiyod Bhagavathi Nagar in Mangalpady village, where a vehicle inspection was under way. When signalled to stop, the driver allegedly attempted to leave the spot instead of complying with the police direction.
