Though touted chiefly as a people-mover, the Nissan Gravite is far from being a proverbial one-trick pony

Six lakh rupees is not a small amount. But in today’s world, it’s not enough for a down payment for a house, and may not even cover the yearly fees for some schools.

And yet, through the miracle of brilliant packaging, it gets you the Nissan Gravite, India’s most affordable seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

Now, as is apparent, the Nissan Gravite shares its platform with the Renault Triber. However, the top-spec Gravite, despite being priced below Rs 10 lakh, gets features such as LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRL), and even fog-lamps. And, while the Triber mostly gets a manual transmission, with an AMT (automated manual transmission) available only in its topspec Emotion variant, Nissan offers both AMT and CVT (continuously variable transmission) options on the Gravite, with the former available right from the entry-spec Visia trim.
