Three years after taking charge, Timex Group India MD Deepak Chhabra reflects on driving a threefold revenue jump, winning over Gen Z consumers, expanding through quick commerce, and positioning India at the heart of the company’s global growth strategy

- Ashad Hussain

Over the past decade, Deepak Chhabra has built a reputation for reviving and scaling consumer brands.

After growing Crocs India from a $20 million business to nearly $80 million and steering Tupperware India through a challenging phase, he took over as Managing Director of Timex Group India in 2022 with a clear mandate: reinvent one of the world’s oldest watch brands for a new generation of consumers. Three years into his tenure as Managing Director, that strategy is beginning to show results. Timex Group India has grown from ₹266 crore to over ₹800 crore in revenue, expanded its portfolio across owned and licensed brands, strengthened its manufacturing footprint, accelerated premiumisation and emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing watch companies.

In this conversation with AdMirror, Ashad Hussain speaks with Deepak Chhabra, Managing Director, Timex Group India, about the company’s transformation journey, the rise of premium watches, Gen Z consumers, manufacturing ambitions, quick commerce, competition with Titan, and why calculated risk-taking has become central to Timex’s next phase of growth.

Timex Group India crossed ₹800 crore in revenue in FY26, nearly 3X growth in four years. What fundamentally changed?
