CPM countered with its own song
The Free Press Journal - Indore
|December 18, 2025
Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan accused the CPM of hypocrisy as a political controversy intensified over the viral parody song 'Pottiye kettiye', arguing that satire using devotional tunes has long been part of Kerala's political culture and has previously been employed by the CPM itself.
Satheesan questioned the moral position adopted by the CPM after its leaders objected to the parody song, which alludes to the alleged disappearance of gold and valuables from Sabarimala. He said the outrage appeared selective and inconsistent with the party's own past actions.
