Yoga for the digital age: Beating screen fatigue and stress
The Daily Guardian
|June 16, 2026
It is only natural that our digital-first lifestyles demand our constant attention when we are living in such a transformed world.
Screen time has become inseparable from modern life because every little thing has to do with screens, from morning alarms and virtual meetings to social media feeds and endless notifications. Even though the technology has transformed a lot of life aspects, it has also brought a new set of challenges with it, as they can impact both physical and mental health.
People are suffering from digital overload across various demographics, including professionals, students and young adults. They suffer from physical issues like shoulder pain, eye strain, mental fatigue, anxiety and declining attention spans. And these are some of the most common symptoms.
Yoga is one of the timeless and effective solutions against these modern challenges.
This ancient practice is rooted in ancient wisdom and is still highly relevant even today. It provides practical tools that can fight the physical and psychological effects of excessive screen exposure.
Working professionals have no choice but to stay seated in front of a computer screen for long hours, which can lead to poor posture. People can develop a chronic strain on the spine and surrounding muscles due to the forward head positioning, rounded shoulders and prolonged sitting. As time goes by with the same routine, all of this can result in long-term discomfort, issues in mobility and exhaustion.
