We Won't Allow Vote Chori': Rahul Gandhi Kicks Off Voter Adhikar Yatra

Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' from Sasaram, accusing the Election Commission (EC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of conspiring to "steal" elections through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.

Addressing a large gathering, Gandhi alleged that votes were being "stolen" not only in Bihar but across states such as Maharashtra, Assam and West Bengal.

"The entire country knows what the Election Commission is doing. Earlier people did not know how votes were being stolen, but we have exposed this in our press conference. Whether the theft happens in Bihar, Maharashtra or elsewhere, we will catch it and show it to the people," he said.

Calling the SIR in Bihar a "conspiracy", Gandhi claimed that new voters were being removed while fake names were being added to manipulate elections. "Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections are being stolen across the country. Bihar’s poor will not let this theft happen. They only have the power of the vote, and we will not let vote chori take place,” he said.
