TMC Slams ECI for 'Backdoor Disenfranchisement Exercise'

Highlighting apparent discrepancies in successive press notes issued by the Election Commission of India on the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar, the Trinamool Congress on Thursday accused the poll body of carrying out a "backdoor disenfranchisement exercise" at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Trinamool Congress leaders in Bengal and its Parliamentarians in New Delhi carried out coordinated attacks on the poll body highlighting its concerns. The Trinamool Congress shared three press notes released by the EC, with the last two coming back-to-back on July 22 and 23.
