The Supreme Court in the case A. Kamala vs. State Of Tamil Nadu observed and has issued notice to the State of Tamil Nadu wherein the petition is filed challenging the recent detention of YouTuber Savukku Shankar under the preventive detention law.
The bench comprising of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra was hearing the habeas corpus petition filed by his mother.
The counsel, Advocate Balaji Srinivasan appearing for the petitioner stressed that Shankar had been subjected to physical torture and solitary confinement.
