Shama Parveen's Arrest: Uncovering an Al Qaeda Terror Module

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a 30-year-old woman named Shama Parveen in Bengaluru.
She is linked to a terror module of Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). Shama is believed to be a key planner in this module. This arrest has caused a stir across the country, showing how terrorist groups use social media to mislead young people.
Shama Parveen is originally from Jharkhand but has been living in Bengaluru for some years now. She seemed to live a normal life, but investigations revealed she was very active on social media. She had two Facebook accounts and around 10,000 followers on Instagram. The ATS says Shama was spreading Al Qaeda's ideas. She shared extremist videos and messages connected to Al Qaeda operatives. Her goal was to radicalize young people, meaning to turn them into extremists.
