Is this the minister we deserve?
The Citizen
|September 02, 2025
I think Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie, pictured, is a populist and an attention seeker. McKenzie also likes drawing attention to himself. He behaves as if he's the best thing that ever happened to South Africa. Shame.
As the minister of sport, arts and culture, part of his role is to promote social cohesion. This is important because of South Africa's undesirable past, which includes many years of racial discrimination.
Unfortunately, the nation is struggling to be cohesive.
