DEFENDANT 'APPEARED CONFUSED' BY BRAVE RESPONSE

- By ROB KENNEDY Court reporter

A BRAVE shop worker left a knife-wielding robber confused and empty-handed by telling him to “go f*** yourself”.

Philip Profit had gone into a shop staffed by a mother and daughter and demanded cash in a timid voice while armed with a blade.

Despite repeating his request for money in a slightly louder voice, the younger woman bravely and robustly stood up to him.

A court heard Profit “appeared confused” before leaving the store in Blyth with no cash.

He then tried to throw police off the scent by shaving off the facial hair. But he was well known to police and when officers attended his home they found him in the same clothes he was wearing in CCTV footage from the shop and discovered two freshly used razors.
