FOR those of us who remember 1975, it seems scarcely believable that a full 50 years have passed since then.
If we step back exactly half a century to the early July of that year, in the UK singles charts there were major hits for 10CC with I'm Not In Love, Showaddywaddy with Three Steps To Heaven and Van McCoy with The Hustle.
On television in 1975 - a time when there were only three channels - we watched, for the first time, Celebrity Squares, Winner Takes All and Little House On The Prairie.
And if you were off to the pictures, the biggest movie attractions that year included One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Monty Python And The Holy Grail, and French Connection II.
Our archive photographs recall scenes captured around Tyneside in 1975.
