Y+ Security for Surjewala under review

The Union Home Ministry has proposed to withdraw the Y+ category security provided to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala after a new security review by the central security agency.
While considering the Centre's plea, Justice Kuldeep Tiwari of the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed Surjewala to appear before the authority concerned to present his case.
The Bench has directed that the petitioner be given a reasonable opportunity to submit all the evidence required to prove the constant threat posed to him.
Justice Tiwari ordered that the petitioner shall submit all the documents before the concerned authority within one month from the date of the passage of this order and thereafter, after providing the petitioner with a reasonable opportunity of being heard, the concerned authority shall take a decision expeditiously.
