VP Sara ready to face impeachment trial - defense team

The legal defense team of Vice President Sara Duterte asserted on Monday, June 9, that she is prepared to face the senator-judges should the Senate proceed with her impeachment trial, but warned against weaponizing the process for political purposes.
In a statement, Duterte's defense team said it has received numerous requests for comments regarding calls for the Senate to move forward with the trial.
However, the team stressed that “we deem it proper to refrain from commenting on matters that are exclusive and internal to the Senate.”
