Top-seeded Shashikant Kutwal emerged as the Champion of the Super Heroes Cup 2026 organized by Chess Base India and held at Habitat Studios in Mundhwa.
Top Seeded Shashikant Kutwal defeated Karthik Venkata Krishna 1.5-0.5 in a thrilling final. Kutwal, who drew the first game, displayed remarkable composure and determination to win the second game after a long and hard-fought battle, sealing the title in style.
The winner Shashikant Kutwal got the trophy and Rs.1,00,000/-, while runner-up Karthik Venkata Krishna got the trophy and Rs.75,000/-. The champion was warmly greeted by his family members who were present at the venue, and they joined him on stage during the closing ceremony to celebrate the memorable triumph.
In the third-place match, two of India's top visually impaired players, Darpan Inani and Kishan Gangolli, produced a gripping contest. Both the rapid games ended in draws, forcing an Armageddon tiebreak, where Gangolli held his nerve to clinch victory and secure the third-place prize of INR 50,000.
