FC Road Demolitions: Who Really Pays the Price?

On the surface, such action seems necessary. Pune, as a rapidly growing city, needs orderly streets, disciplined traffic, and well-managed public spaces. However, the manner in which this enforcement is unfolding has sparked serious concerns.

Small traders on FC Road, often operating with minimal resources, are facing immediate and harsh consequences.

Footpath use, small advertisement boards, or minor extensions in limited spaces are being demolished on the spot. The impact on these traders is direct and severe, affecting their very livelihoods. Frustrated voices are rising, asking, "How are we supposed to survive?" The presence of police during these drives adds a layer of pressure, intensifying the fear and sense of helplessness among small business owners.
