High Court sets dates for parties to file for Tongaat Hulett liquidation
Sunday Tribune
|March 01, 2026
THE provisional liquidation application for Tongaat Hulett has been adjourned in the Durban High Court to March as other interested parties are seeking to join the matter.
The application was brought by the business rescue practitioners of Tongaat Hulett Limited.
The Industrial Development Corporation on Thursday filed its notice of intention to oppose the application while it was heard on Friday that other parties also have an interest.
The matter has significant public interest due to the implications for the sugar industry as a whole as 18000 growers depend on Tongaat Hulett’s three mills for milling operations.
