Teacher struck off after emails and pics sent to pupils

Emma Anderson was a deputy safeguarding lead at Whinstone Primary School, in Ingleby Barwick, Stockton, when she exchanged inappropriate emails and arranged to meet pupils outside of school.

In May, a Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) professional conduct hearing was held regarding her behaviour.

Mrs Anderson was not represented and did not attend the virtual hearing, which went ahead in her absence. Chair of the panel, Martin Coles, said Mrs Anderson faced a number of allegations dating back to when she worked at Whinstone Primary on Lowfields Avenue. In 2024, she was suspended when the allegations came to light after a disclosure was made by a parent and police became involved. Cleveland Police confirmed that, following an investigation, no criminal offences were identified.

Mr Coles said that the parent's disclosure resulted in Mrs Anderson's emails being reviewed. She resigned from her role in December 2024.
