CARL Magnay has called on Gateshead to bring some clarity to the club's situation as speculation over a proposed takeover by a consortium led by former Everton and Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe continues.

Magnay demands an end to 'uncertainty'

The situation has continued over a number of months and the Heed boss says the uncertainty has seeped into his squad as they struggle to claim a National League play-off place.

Anichebe was at the International Stadium as Magnay's men suffered defeats against Maidenhead United and Braintree Town earlier this week - and there was a third consecutive home defeat as goals from Dan Creaney and Tom McGlinchey helped visitors Tamworth to a 2-0 win.

Magnay, who has held a number of meetings with Anichebe and has been given an insight into his "incredible plans" on and off the pitch, has been left frustrated by the ongoing situation and wants the uncertainty to end.

"The reality is that it has made an impact. But it hasn’t just been this week, it’s been for a number of months," explained the Heed boss.
