Firms that boost jobs first in line for big contracts
COMPANIES that boost jobs will be first in line to build new roads, hospitals and schools under plans to be unveiled this week.
Cabinet minister Pat McFadden will launch a consultation on an overhaul to procurement rules to make creating high quality jobs and boosting skills in local communities key requirements for firms bidding for big contracts.
The proposals will come in the government's new infrastructure strategy alongside billions of pounds of investment in projects to create jobs.
