Homes win for football legend
FORMER footballer Gary Lineker has netted £1.6million in property deals ahead of his early exit from the BBC.
The England legend, 64, who hosts his final Match of the Day show tonight, has bought land in Cheam, Surrey, and a house in nearby Coulsdon.
He paid £1m for the plot, which has planning permission for eight properties.
The presenter also spent £630,000 on the four-bedroom detached house.
Lineker, who set up GCGL Properties with his builder friend George Constand in 2020, has taken out mortgages for both deals via Jersey-based firm Hambury Limited.
