AN Action Man and Jeep are some of the more unusual finds John Bingley has found deep diving into Nottingham’s sewers.

- STAFF REPORTER

The Severn Trent worker has spent the past seven years tackling up to nine blockages a day caused by so-called unflushables - but says his weirdest find so far is the iconic toy.

“He was still sitting in his Jeep. I have no idea how that ended up down there!” said the dad-of-two.

Wet wipes and fats, oils and greases are the more usual culprits when John, 36, and crew mate Kristian Cornell are called out to unblock pipes and sewers.

The pair have been sharing their dirty secrets and are urging families to ‘Be a Binner, Not a Blocker’ after teams cleared a massive 28,782 blockages last year.
