Govt to bring digital economy, cyber security laws

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka is preparing to introduce a digital economy act and a cyber security act, to provide a legal framework for the country’s digitalization program, deputy minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne said.

The proposed digital economy act aims to establish a digital economy authority, which will integrate all government ministries and state-run institutions into a single ecosystem.
“We are looking forward to introducing two new institutions through these acts,” Weeraratne said.
