Seagulls getting 'drunk' as hot spell attracts 'toxic' flying ants

DRUNK seagulls are poised to wreak havoc across Britain after the latest heatwave triggered swarms of flying ants which are making them tipsy.

While gulls love gobbling up the airborne bugs, a toxin inside them makes the winged scavengers groggy.

This makes the gulls more likely to bicker noisily with each other or wander dangerously into roads.
