Having eyes on US prize could be asset to L&G

L&G’s mammoth 9% dividend yield is certainly worth a look.

The insurance and asset management giant reported results last week that were broadly in line with expectations, with profit growth of 6% driven by its retirement businesses.

L&G’s operations span across retirement, retail and asset management. The business is undergoing a streamlining effort, with a couple of its smaller businesses being sold off. There was also more change last year, with its public and private asset management units combined into one larger business.

It is good to see asset management receive some attention, given disappointing recent performance.
