Violent drug user punched partner in the stomach weeks after she had a caesarean
South Wales Evening Post

A VIOLENT thug took cocaine, strangled his partner when she was pregnant with his child and then punched her in the stomach after she had undergone a C-section.
The victim said his behaviour became worse after he started using drugs and he dangerously swerved his car in front of her vehicle when their children were inside.
Nicholas Davies, 27, of Swansea, had been in a relationship with the victim for five years and subjected her to physical violence and threats on a daily basis. The defendant was said to become jealous when the victim spoke to male friends, and would regularly accuse her of cheating on him with no basis.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard Davies paid youths to track his partner’s movements.
Prosecutor Alycia Carpanini told the court the defendant repeatedly assaulted the victim by strangling her, slapping her, punching and kicking her, taking hold of her and pushing her around.
When she took photographs of her injuries he would take her phone off her and delete them.
The first assault took place when a male friend texted the victim to ask if she got home OK from a party. Davies responded by grabbing hold of her with force and throwing her to the floor, which caused pain to her ribs.
The victim later took a bath but the defendant assaulted her again by strangling her.
Ms Carpanini said the victim later discovered she was pregnant with her second child, and Davies challenged the paternity of the child.
He picked her up, held her over railings and threatened to let go of her. She was scared for her own life and that of her unborn child.
