A MUM had not told her daughters she was in court facing a lengthy prison sentence for dealing cocaine, a court has heard.

- JASON EVANS

The mother was one of three people involved in a “sophisticated and lucrative” operation supplying the class A drug which unravelled after police seized a phone.

Sending the trio down, a judge said they had not given their families “a single thought”.

Brian Simpson, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court that on July 15 this year Aled Williams was arrested on suspicion of theft, an allegation which ultimately did not lead to a charge. He said when arrested Williams was found to be carrying £1,360 in cash and said when his phone was examined officers found a “large number” of messages relating to the supply of cocaine in quantities from one gram up to several ounces stretching back to the start of the year.

Following the discovery of the messages, Williams was rearrested. A search of his property in Pontarddulais uncovered another £360 in cash along with a quantity of cannabis.
