Stadium is full of city potential
South Wales Evening Post
|June 28, 2025
CONSIDERING we are still weeks away from the start of the new football season, the fact that I've made three visits to the Swansea.com stadium this week may seem a little strange.
-
However, even though there's no football being played there, it doesn’t mean that the stadium itself isn’t busy as it becomes a venue for conferences, training days and awards dinners.
There have been two dinners there this week that I’ve had the pleasure of hosting, as firstly students and staff from Gower College Swansea gathered together to celebrate another fantastic year of academic and vocational excellence on Monday.
Then, on Thursday, it was the turn of the Swansea Bay Construction Support Group and their Apprentice Awards 2025.
Gower College Swansea is enjoying great success in all aspects of college life and all of this has been achieved as a result of the outstanding commit-ment and dedication of both students ~ all 13,000 of them - and the college staff.
The College Student Awards is an occasion when Gower College gets to celebrate this success and pay tribute to the best of the best.
Every year I’m amazed at the sto-ries of what students have overcome to achieve success in their studies and the support they receive from their tutors.
