Newly released figures have revealed that there were an astonishing 17,521 A&E attendances at the RUH throughout June and July this year, up from 11,812 during the same period in 2015.

There were also 76 cases of patients waiting 12 hours or more to be admitted throughout June and July this year. Meanwhile, there were zero recorded cases of these so-called 'trolley waits' during the same period in 2015.
