Sleaford shopkeeper jailed after stashing illegal cigarettes and vapes in jigsaw boxes

MORE than 5,400 illicit cigarettes and vapes have been seized from a shop in Sleaford.
Lincolnshire Police seized thousands of illegal items from Karwan Dewari Khatab’s Fresh Fruit and Grocery store on Southgate in Sleaford.
The raids were carried out between September 2023 and February 2024, when the shop was closed by court order. The shopkeeper also had a store in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, as well as the one in Lincolnshire.
In addition to the illicit cigarettes and vapes, officers also found 3.45kg of hand rolling tobacco in the Sleaford store, with some items even stashed in jigsaw boxes.
