School hailed as 'among the very best nationally'

SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EDUCATION PRAISES PRIMARY FOR THE 'EXCELLENT' PERFORMANCE OF DISADVANTAGED PUPILS
A PRIMARY school has received a letter from the Secretary of State for Education hailing it as “among the very best nationally”.
St Mary’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy in Brigg received the letter from Bridget Phillipson due to the “excellent” performance of disadvantaged pupils.
The primary academy, in Grammar School Road, welcomes children of faith and non-faith backgrounds. The strength of its education was also praised by Ofsted during its latest inspection, which noted that leaders are “ambitious for what all pupils can achieve” and children who need extra help are identified and supported quickly.
