Two-goal Tait leads the way as Bairns go on scoring spree to (nearly) nail a top-six slot

DYLAN TAIT helped himself to a double as Falkirk feasted on Kilmarnock's defensive shambles - then admitted it was as good as it gets.

Here was yet another display of relentless attacking verve and absence of inhibition from a side who all but cemented a top-six finish while still the Premiership's new boys.

Once again, midfielder Tait was at the heart of it all.

Not only did he pull the strings, the 24-year-old trebled his topflight goal tally as Killie became the latest side to be dismantled by the Bairns.

In truth, this was a goal fest which should have been even more comprehensive.

It has been that fearless approach to going for the jugular that has allowed John McGlynn's men to join Motherwell as the true entertainers in this chaotic campaign.

Tait was in no doubt about where this win rates in the grand scheme of proving the difference between last season's Championship winners and this term's Premiership class is paper thin.

After back-to-back defeats going into this one, he said: "It was one of our best performances of the season.

"We beat Hibs 3-0 here and it was definitely on a par with that.

"We took our chances well and dominated the game. There was good energy off the ball as well, so it was definitely one of the best of the season.

"We came in last Monday and dissected the game against Hearts.

"There were areas of the game we weren't happy with.

"We had to give a reaction and you could see it from minute one.
