Shamed doc deemed fit to be a landlord

DISGRACED brain surgeon Sam Eljamel has been deemed a “fit and proper” person to be a landlord, it emerged yesterday.

The medic, 68, is back working in his native Libya after being accused of maiming more than 200 Scots patients in botched operations.

But despite fleeing, the former head of neurosurgery at Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital is thought to be renting out two flats in the city.

Two students living at one of the properties told a Sunday newspaper they were paying £900 a month in total to a leasing agency. Eljamel’s second flat commands around £450 a month, meaning he earns more than £16,000 a year in rent.
