Dram good idea: Calls for whisky duty freeze to boost hospitality

WHISKY chiefs have been backed in their renewed calls for a freeze on duty in the upcoming Budget by senior figures within the hospitality industry.
Their call comes as soaring tariffs have directly led to swingeing cuts in jobs linked to the sectors.
The chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) said he was convinced that a freeze on duty would be a win-win all round.
Mark Kent, below, explained: "Our businesses are facing pressure like never before.
