Celtic bid their final farewell to Lisbon Lions hero Clark

MOURNERS gathered in Glasgow yesterday to remember Celtic legend John Clark, who died aged 84 last week.

Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Neil Lennon were among those seen paying their respects at the funeral of the Lisbon Lion, along with manager Brendan Rodgers and the entire Celtic first-team squad.

The defender made more than 300 appearances for the Hoops and won 15 major trophies, including six Scottish league titles.

Clark was also part of the famous Celtic team who became the first British club to lift the European Cup in 1967, beating Inter Milan in Lisbon.

His funeral mass was held at St Mary’s Church in the Calton area of the city.

Afterwards, the funeral cortege travelled down The Celtic Way outside the club’s stadium.
