HAPPY WITH HIS LOT Jim Goodwin admits he has 'loads of good options within the squad' as he prepares to take on Rangers

JIM GOODWIN reckons his Dundee United squad is as strong as he had in his managerial career.

The Tannadice boss brought in 14 new signings during a major summer rebuild and is delighted with the strength and depth he now has at his disposal across the board, with at least two players for every position.

The former Aberdeen, St Mirren and Alloa manager, said: “Id say this is certainly up there.

“We've tried to build a squad that has given us two good players in each position, and I think we've pretty much fulfilled that.

“None of the players that we signed have come to be squad players.

“They've all come because they believe they're good enough to play in the Scottish Premiership, and they don't want to be getting 15-20 minutes here and there off the bench.

“That's a good place to be as a manager.
