Now in its 16th year, the carnival will bring together over 1 500 performers in a vibrant celebration themed “Follow Your HeART.”

Adding to the excitement, this year's event spotlights 12 “Champions” from Cape Town's creative scene including singer Anslin Gysman and local actor Natasha van der Merwe, DJ Ready D, graffiti artist Rizah Potgieter, and designer Stephen van Eeden.

Speaking to People's Post, Van der Merwe said being part of the Cape Town Carnival is an honour. “To be seen, recognised as a performer, and for my story to be acknowledged in this way is something I never imagined. I'm beyond grateful and cannot wait to be part of this incredible celebration.”
