Pottery fanatics flocked to town

Paisley Museum was shortly to become a pottery study centre for Scotland.

This was accepted by councillors after a report from the chief curator Mr David Shearer had revealed how highly acclaimed the exhibits were, we reported in June 1982.
The museum housed one of the best collections in Britain.
The report was made after the district's keeper of art, Mr Bob Saunders, attended a comprehensive course on ceramics.
