Living conditions to be improved for military people
Dozens of Renfrewshire families will see their homes upgraded as part of the new UK Defence Housing Strategy.
The 43 homes, located in the Glenburn area of Paisley, will be refurbished as part of efforts to improve the living conditions of people in the military and their families.
The work forms part of wider £9 billion investment by the UK Government to deliver homes truly fit for serving personnel over the next decade.
It will see homes in Scotland and Northern Ireland upgraded while former military homes, sold off in England in 1996, will be brought back into public ownership.
In total, 40,000 homes across the UK will be modernised or rebuilt.
The move has been welcomed by Johanna Baxter MP, who represents the Glenburn area.
