YOU could be on your way to a nerve-jangling hospital appointment, a giddying night on the town, or just another mundane day at the office.

But there’s one thing that remains ever-present - the dulcet tones of David Lloyd. That's if you are a user of the city’s bus network, at least. The 64-year-old has been the announcer for Nottingham City Transport (NCT) for the past five or so years.

He has welcomed you aboard, advised you where to get off, and maybe even told you off if you've been naughty. “I find it quite amusing sitting on the bus listening to myself announce the stops,” said David. “Sometimes when I get off the bus I say thank you, as you do to the driver, and I wonder if he thinks I sound like the bloke he listens to all day.”
