The Class A drugs - 39kg of cocaine and 18kg of heroin - were concealed at a freezer storage unit in the village.

The discovery was made in August 2017 and an investigation revealed the drugs were imported from Belgium.

Five people were convicted of the offences, including two who were sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on December 8, 2023. They are John Madden, from Merseyside, who was 51 when he was jailed for 21 years after pleading guilty to conspiring to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a Class A drug.
